One of the most inspired, quirky and eye-catching demonstrations by the green movement.

I was commissioned by Scotland on Sunday to document the G20 demonstrations, and any potential conflict between demonstrators and police, in St Andrews and the nearby St Andrews Bay Hotel. The conference centre was the scene of the summit of the world’s top finance ministers, brought together to discuss the global banking and economic crisis.

Given the potential for trouble I was glad that a stunt on the beach by People First (a coalition of green groups and charities) captured the eye of the picture editors and was the image used by Scotland on Sunday.
