The Easter Play has become a much-loved tradition in Edinburgh. In the past, crowds of up to 4,500 have packed the Gardens to watch the Easter story performed by a community cast. In 2017, for the first time, the narrator of the story was a woman: Mary, the Mother of Jesus.
